Tezlo v1.1 brings Genie, a voice assistant that learns how you talk, to Tesla owners, and turns Full Self-Driving into a scenic day out

SAN FRANCISCO, CA - Altrooz, Inc. today announced Tezlo v1.1, a major update to its companion app for Tesla owners. Where the car’s own app ends, Tezlo begins: v1.1 adds Genie, a voice assistant that learns each driver, pairs Tesla’s Full Self-Driving (Supervised) with scenic “Get Aways” shared by other owners, and connects owners to a local community and a marketplace of vetted service shops.

But the moment you drive off the lot, you are mostly on your own for everything else,” said Rob Crumpler, founder of Altrooz. “FSD drives the road. What is new in v1.1

• A voice assistant that learns you, not “the user.” Genie remembers the places you name (“remember this as the office”), the rules you set (“always ask before unlocking”), and how you phrase things, and it takes back many commands on “undo.” Owners can chain up to four actions in one sentence: “set it to 68 and unlock the car.”
• “Hey Siri, wake my Genie.” Said from the mount, Genie greets the owner by name (“Hi Rob, how can I help you?”) and listens, with the phone untouched (Face ID unlocks it from the mount). Because it runs on the iPhone, it works from anywhere: the kitchen before leaving, the office lot, the mount on the road. The car’s own voice answers only inside the car.
• Teach it your words. “When I say home James, take me home” teaches Genie an owner’s own phrase for a request, understood from then on; corrected a mishearing, “learn that as a colloquialism” teaches both the phrase and what was misheard.
• Hands-free control and navigation, working alongside FSD (Supervised): climate, seat heaters, windows, trunk, charging limit, scheduled departure, destinations sent straight to the car’s screen, a reroute around traffic by voice, and an ETA text to whoever is waiting (“text Carey my ETA”).
• Your calendar, walked by voice. Ask for your next meeting and Genie reads the week: next, back, the third one, Saturday morning, the third meeting on Saturday, or a meeting by name. Say yes and its address is in the car nav; say no and the walk goes on.
• It introduces itself. The first two sessions open with a spoken welcome: Genie says hello by name, asks the car’s nickname and saves it, offers a tour of the voice commands (the screen scrolls while Genie explains), and ends with things to try. “Start here, Genie” plays both welcomes back to back; “Goodbye, Genie” ends a session.
• Your Get Aways and Stories, read aloud. “Read me my Get Aways” walks them one at a time like the week: next, back, the one before that, number three; yes opens one or flips through its photos.
• The weather, where you are. “What’s the weather today”, “is it going to rain”, “do I need a jacket”, tonight, tomorrow, and at the destination once one is set, from the National Weather Service. It keeps the thread: “how about tomorrow?” right after is still about the weather.
• Answers from anywhere, sends from the car. Away from the car, Genie tells you: where the closest charger with a five-star nail salon a short walk away is, what Sentry saw last night, what the last charge cost. In the car, the same charger ask ends with Genie offering to send it, and a yes puts it in the car nav.
• A trip becomes a Story by voice. “Post this trip as a story” turns a past Get Away into a Story on the Community feed: the composer opens filled from the trip (its name and date, the note, the photos), and the owner reads it and taps Post. “Show me the photos of my Tahoe trip” flips through them on the screen for the passengers.
• It teaches you what to say. Profile > Genie > Voice commands lists every phrase by situation - parked, driving, with someone in the car, your week, teaching Genie - and “what can I say” opens it by voice.
• It tells you when the car did it. A command is not just sent: Tezlo waits for the car to accept it (“Locked”, “Sentry is on”), speaks the car’s reason when it declines, and the Controls screen adds “Confirmed” once the car’s live data shows the change.
• Built for a moving car. While the car is being driven, anything that could startle or misdirect the driver (unlock, trunk, windows, lights, volume, a new destination) is accepted only from a phone that is in the car. Opening the car up always asks first, and no “stop asking me” rule can switch that off.
• One car, the whole household. An owner can share the car’s controls with a family member, who uses it from their own account and plan, sees drives, mileage and the live trail only from the day it was shared, and gets the safety alerts too.
• A family plan. The Additional Car place can hold a family member with their own Tesla login instead of a second car: the person who pays invites them, they get the full plan on their own iPhone, and their Tesla appears in the payer’s Tezlo. Either of them can end it.
• The owner’s manual, by voice. Ask how (“how do I turn on dog mode”) and Genie teaches it from Tesla’s manual for the Model 3, Model Y, Model S, Model X and Cybertruck, then offers to do it.
• Genie speaks first. Ten minutes of traffic ahead, a low charge, a cold morning, a charger stop worth adding, a soft tire: it asks, and learns when you would rather it stayed quiet.
• FSD-ready Get Aways. Scenic drives shared by owners, for a date, a day trip or a solo reset, that route straight to the car so the driver can let FSD (Supervised) handle the road and take in the view.
• Your FSD, measured. The share of tracked miles driven on FSD (Supervised), per-drive percentages, the longest drive on FSD, a month-by-month battery health estimate, and a history of the car’s software updates, all from the car’s own data.
• A community, not a service center. Local meetups and Cars and Coffee, an owner Stories feed, and connections to drivers nearby.
• A marketplace of vetted local shops with deals on tires, paint protection, detailing and home-charger installs; request a booking in the app. Plus live Supercharger stall counts and “While You Charge” things to do nearby.

Why it matters

EV ownership has outgrown the tools that come with the car. Owners stitch together a basic first-party app, third-party trackers and forums for control, service, charging and community. Tezlo brings it into one app built around the way people live with their cars, with a voice interface designed to be safer and more natural than tapping a screen while driving.

Availability and pricing

Tezlo is available on the Apple App Store in the United States. Marketplace and Community start in the San Francisco Bay Area. Plans: Free; Pro at $9.99/mo ($99.99/yr); and Pro Voice at $14.99/mo ($149.99/yr), which unlocks the hands-free assistant. Connecting a Tesla includes 15 days of Pro Voice, with no purchase.
